about

This is a song about the loneliness and isolation of anyone who becomes, for whatever reason, a ‘foreigner’. This song has haunted me since I first heard it. It has resonated with me in a personal way, not only because I left my home country some decades ago, but also because of my work with refugees.
I wrote an English version of the first verse and chorus, also changing the arrangement into a more ‘funky’ version. Paul Mcclenaghan’s bass playing is outstanding.
